AADHAAR ENABLED PAYMENT SYSTEM (AEPS)

Aadhar AEPS is a bank led model which allows online interoperable financial transaction at PoS (Point of Sale / Micro ATM) through the Business Correspondent (BC)/Bank Mitra of any bank using the Aadhaar authentication. AEPS India offers Aadhar Enabled Payment software & AEPS API integration services for Businesses all over India.

How to use AEPS?

  1. Step 1: Locate an Udaaan Seva Kender - Find a nearby Udaaan seva kender, which can be a bank branch or an authorized business correspondent (BC) or banking correspondent outlet.
  2. Step 2: Provide Your Aadhaar Number - When you visit the Udaaan Seve Kender, the bank or business correspondent will ask you to provide your Aadhaar number. Make sure you have your Aadhaar card or Aadhaar number handy.
  3. Step 3: Choose the Transaction Type Inform the service provider about the type of transaction you want to perform. AEPS supports various transactions, including:
    1. Cash Withdrawal: If you want to withdraw cash from your bank account linked to your Aadhaar, let the service provider know the amount you wish to withdraw.
    2. Balance Inquiry: To check your account balance, request a balance inquiry transaction.
    3. Fund Transfer: If you want to transfer money to another Aadhaar-linked bank account, provide the recipient's Aadhaar number.
  4. Step 4: Biometric Authentication For security purposes, you'll need to provide biometric data, typically your fingerprint or sometimes iris scan, to confirm your identity. Place your finger on the biometric scanner as instructed by the service provider.
  5. Step 5: Confirmation Once your biometric authentication is successful, the transaction will be processed, and you'll receive a confirmation message with details of the transaction, including the amount withdrawn or transferred, and the remaining balance in your account.
  6. Step 6: Collect Cash (if applicable) If you are withdrawing cash, the service provider will hand you the requested amount in cash. Ensure you count the money to verify that it matches the withdrawal amount.
  7. Step 7: End Transaction After completing the transaction, make sure to log out or end the session securely to protect your financial information.
  8. Step 8: Keep Transaction Slip (if provided) Some Udaaan Seve Kenders may provide a transaction slip as a receipt. It's a good practice to keep this slip as proof of the transaction, especially for fund transfers.
